Northwest Cosmetic Labs Becomes EPA Green Power Partner

Idaho Falls, Idaho – June 28, 2010

Prestige skin care and cosmetic product manufacturer Northwest Cosmetic Labs has announced a partnership with the United States Environmental Protection Agency's Green Power program.

The Green Power Partnership is a voluntary program that provides assistance and recognition to organizations that demonstrate environmental leadership by choosing green power. It was also created to support the development of new, renewable energy in the United States.  Under the partnership, Northwest Cosmetic Labs agrees to meet specific goals for "green" power use and will report to the EPA on its use each year. Green power is electricity that is generated from environmentally preferable renewable resources, such as wind, solar, geothermal, biogas, biomass and low-impact hydro. These resources generate electricity with a net zero increase in carbon dioxide emissions, while offering a superior environmental profile compared to traditional power generation sources.

As the first cosmetic/skin care contract manufacturer to join the EPA Green Power Partnership, Northwest Cosmetic Labs continues to be a leader in supporting the environmentally sustainable supply chain goals it shares with its customers and suppliers.  Northwest Cosmetic Labs’ green power purchase avoids 53 metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, which is the equivalent of removing 10 passenger vehicles from the road.

Northwest Cosmetic Labs, headquartered in Idaho Falls, Idaho, specializes in custom formula development and quality manufacturing of prestige skin care and cosmetic products.  More information is available at www1.trustncl.com.
